Petition Letter

Petition Letter: I am writing to you in regards to late enrolment. There are extenuating circumstances that have prohibited me from registering for courses on time, and I apologize for the inconvenience. Just recently I sent in an appeal to ¿Register with Debt¿¿, as my parents were facing fiscal limitations financially. This resulted in me not being able to fully pay all my student funds throughout my first year. However, in response to my appeal, the committee has approved it and has granted me the privilege to attend courses this year. Furthermore, I have been in between e-mails and meetings with the registrars¿¿ office in attempts to put together a payment plan, which had to be distinguished before I could proceed with my course selection. There were many adjustments being made to the payment plan in order to make it suitable for the committee and myself. This turned out to be rather time consuming, although it is understandable regarding the circumstances. Fortunately, a payment plan has now been set in place and I am now eligible to proceed with my course selection. I understand the delay in my registration is less than satisfying, however I am very eager to continue registering for courses this fall semester in hopes that I do not have to wait until the winter term. With your consent, the courses in which I hope to be enrolled into are ENG 100A, HLTH 101, PSYC 100A and SOCY 122A. Thank you for you time and consideration in reviewing my letter. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Sincerely,

Aimee Ware

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: Concerning my late enrolment I have put together a precise academic plan to ensure that I am able to catch up to the current course content and remain academically successful throughout. I have chosen four courses as apposed to five, which will still allow me to remain a full time student, while at the same time it will lessen the workload and stress of catching up. In efforts to remain current with the subjects of study I have chosen and to further better my academic performance, I have attended all the required lectures. I thought this was a productive approach as I am now aware of upcoming assignments, readings, tests/quizzes and have a breadth of knowledge to where we are focusing specifically in each course. I am aware of all the books that are required for these courses, and have full access to any other academic necessities that may be needed. I am planning to meet with each of the TA¿¿s to get a better insight on the required knowledge I should have on the topic of study thus far, as well as any other specific expectations I must meet. I have carefully chosen courses in which am knowledgeable and hold a strong interest in, in which case I will be attentive to the subjects of study and will naturally have the desire to learn and succeed. With my knowledge and interests in the courses chosen, as well as my efforts to stay up to date and intact with current course content, I can confidently say I will be able to catch up on what I have missed and remain academically successful. Thank you very much for your time and consideration in reviewing this letter. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Aimee Ware
