To Whom It May Concern:
My name is Emilie Houle; I am a first year undergraduate student in the faculty of Arts and Sciences. Last week I dropped my politics 110 course seeing as, I had chosen to switch programs in hopes of transferring into nursing. However, I wanted to upgrade my grade 12 chemistry mark, which is why I dropped politics in order to compensate for the additional course. Moreover, unfortunately politics was the only course I could drop because, my other full year course (psychology) is transferable credit into the nursing faculty and it opened another course slot for next semester in which I had planned to take another pre-requisite for the nursing program. Nonetheless, my career goals have always varied between nursing or pursuing law, therefore after speaking with my parents this past weekend, I¿¿ve concluded that the most advantageous solution is to complete my two years of undergrad in arts and science, which would allow for the option to continue with my initial undergrad or apply for the accelerated nursing program. Lastly, I only dropped the course last week; therefore I have not missed any lectures or tutorials, which is why re-enrolling in the course would not set be behind academically in comparison to other students. In essence, I made a rash decision to which I regret in terms of limiting my academic opportunities over the next 4 years seeing as I truly enjoy politics.

Academic Plan: The re-enrollment in politics would best serve my academic plan seeing as it would allow for opportunities in both law and nursing, as they are both career fields I am interested in. The completion of the course would allow me to further my knowledge in terms of politics as a potential major, while also permitting for the accelerated nursing opportunity following second year so long as I take both required courses. In essence, re-enrolling the course would further my interest in politics and law while keeping nursing as a viable option.
