Petition Letter: I am appealing to drop BIOL 102 (Fall 2015).
I am writing this appeal because earlier in the school year, I was sick, causing me to miss some classes and important labs in the course, causing me to fall behind. I wanted to drop the course earlier, but I was also sick on the week of the academic deadline to drop courses, so I couldn't. Since the deadline passed, I thought there was no other way to drop courses but a friend of mine told me it was still possible, and that is why I am writing the appeal now.
The reason I wanted to drop course was because I was originally aiming for biomedical computing in second year, but after thinking through I decided to take the regular computer science program, making biology a non-essential course. I may change my mind and decide to go into biomedical computing again in the future, but I believe that I will be able to do better than I am currently doing if I were to take the course again.
I apologize for writing this very late in the course, and thank you for taking your time to read this appeal.
