Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,

Please accept this letter and the contents within as reason for an aegrotat standing. On Thursday, December 17th 2015 after having a dry cough for 21 days, ruptures caused by the cough became infected with a serious virus, causing fever of up to 103F, extreme fatigue, dizziness, nausea, and coughing fits resulting in blood being expelled orally. I went to KGH on the evening of the 17th fearing the fever would harshly affect and undiagnosed neuro condition, but was not seen and left after a few hours. I returned to the hospital Sunday the 20th after fever persisted despite over-the-counter medications. Pneumonia, Strep and mono were ruled out and nothing was able to be done as it was ruled viral.

Had the other Dons on my team and my fantastic girlfriend not been around to bring me food, measure medications, email my professor in my name, take me to the hospital, and constantly help me regulate body temperature, I don't know what I would have done. By Monday morning there was no chance that I could walk far enough to get to the exam or sit for two hours, let alone be able to focus my eyes and attention long enough to read it then write it. There is a point at which the mind cannot conquer matter and I had long since passed it. Writing the exam was something I simply could not do.
