Petition Letter: I am Nickolas Vavassis, student of Sociology in the Faculty of Arts and Science at Queen's University. It is my intention to study as a guest student at the University of Copenhagen in the Department of Sociology for the Spring 2016 semester. As a student of Sociology at Queen's University, I would like to enhance my understanding of the field through a new lens, so this international study program at the University of Copenhagen's sociology department will mean a lot for my academic aspirations.

At Queen's University I participate in mainly sociological study, with the exception of a few political science courses to balance my studies. I am currently enrolled in my third year of a BAH, Major in Sociology, Minor in Political Science undergraduate program. Over the course of my academic career at Queen's University I have studied topics such as: introductory sociological theory, advanced sociological theory, sociology of globalization, social research methods, contemporary sociology, sociology of race and radicalization, and sociology of deviance and social control. Although my academic experience with sociology at Queen's University has been nothing short of exceptional, I do feel that a semester at the University of Copenhagen would greatly enrich my experience with and understanding of the field overall.

If I were to be granted admittance to the Department of Sociology at the University of Copenhagen for Spring 2016 I intend on attaining a more complete understanding of sociological theory and methodology. Upon reviewing the department and course plan for the University of Copenhagen's Sociology Department, I am certain a semester will enrich the quality of my education in sociology.

I have been accepted into the faculty of Sociology and Political Science at the University and with your permission, I will begin my studies on February 1st 2016.
