Petition Letter

Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
I would like to request a credit standing for my PSYC 202 course that I have currently passed with a D. On the evening of December 12th 2015, I wrote my final exam, which was worth 48 of my final mark. Unfortunately did not go very well. I had spent a lot of time preparing for it and was feeling ready, but in the afternoon of that day, I started suffering from very strong and incommoding headaches, which made it hard for me to focus during the exam. Because these headaches persisted for days after, and that it was not the first time I was having them that year, I went to consult a doctor two days later, who told me that they were actually migraines. He even provided me with a medical note stating that in such conditions, it would be difficult for me to write my exam the following day(Psyc 235) which ended up being differed in January. This was without counting the stress I was already feeling for this exam, considering that I had to increase my mark from the midterm. On top of this, while I am usually supposed to take a medication for anxiety and ADHD, I had not been able to take this one during a few days before, since I had been home for the study period, and forgot it over there. If it was not from all these unfortunate circumstances, I am sure I could have gotten a decent grade in this exam considering the time I spent studying. Yet, these circumstances made it very hard for me to be able to focus effectively on my exam. Considering this situation, and that the grade that I got does not represent my capacities, I would like to know if it would be possible to get a credit standing for this course.

Thank you very much,

Best regards,

Myriam-Morênikê
