Academic Appeal
I am making this academic appeal in order to drop a class I am currently in: Human Geography (GPHY101). I would like to drop this class because I lack interest in the course material. When I signed up for this class I had a very different idea of what the course content contained. I feel that because of my lack of interest in this course, my marks in the class would be detrimental to my GPA. This course is not required or needed for the degree in which I hope to pursue, and therefore I believe that it would be more beneficial to enroll in another class that fits better into my degree classification and interests. I missed the drop deadline because at that time I was unaware of the direction of the course, as well as what it would bring to my major. Being in first year it is difficult to know what you're going to like and do best in since you have no past information or performance to go off of. I am confident that I have found the major in which I have the most interest in and am fully dedicated to pursue. I would very much appreciate the chance to drop this class and take a course in the summer to fill out the number of credits I require, as I believe that this is the right move for the benefit of my education. I will therefore work hard to keep up with the summer course material. I am dedicated to my education and am willing to work hard in order to excel and achieve my degree.
