Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am requesting to waive the 21-day appeal deadline in order to proceed with the appeal process in dropping my grade in FREN 107. During the middle of November, my right eye was infected which caused a strain in my vision. The condition of my eye especially affected the progress of my online course where everything is done via the computer. After my eye infection, I went to multiple hospital checkups. I am requesting to waive the 21-day appeal deadline because I only recently became fully aware of the appeal process after speaking to a representative in the department of Global Development. After learning about the appeal process I began to gather the documents needed to make a strong appeal case; most of the hospital records were left back home, so I had to wait until I went home during the reading week to collect them. The infection is also still currently on my right eye. My doctor recommended removing it through a surgical means; so during the time of the 21-day appeal deadline, I was engaged in setting up additional hospital meetings in order to have a smooth surgery. Based on these grounds, I kindly request to be granted to continue along in the appeal process.
