Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,

I am appealing for a late drop for the remainder of my winter term courses on the basis of a medical leave. I have suffered from Social Anxiety Disorder, generalized anxiety, depression, and In-attentive type ADHD for years and this past term has been extremely difficult for me. My anxiety made it hard to attend classes, which in turn made doing my work increasingly difficult. The stress of this worsened my depression and set me into a major depressive episode. I had little to no motivation to do school work, my job, or regular day to day activities. I was advised by my physician to take the rest of the semester off to focus on my health.

I will be starting cognitive behavioural therapy and my medication has been increased to help me better cope with the next school term.
