Petition Letter: To the Association Dean (Studies)
I am appealing that my Winter Term be withdrawn and resumed in the Fall of 2016 and also discuss a possibility of a refund of winter term tuition. During the winter break of 2015, I travelled to Saudi Arabia to visit my parents for four days , during those four days a family matter occurred that resulted in me having to stay around for a bit longer. My passport was then taken by a Saudi Citizen who is now refusing to return it, currently my father is trying at his very best to get it returned and is also in contact with the American Embassy trying to get me a new passport issued there's been many attempts of this and not much is being changed.This situation has been beyond my control solve, my father has been trying everyday for the pasted three months to resolve this but in Saudi Arabia its hard to get anything done if you're an outsider. I've been doing the work that I am able to do online and submitting them but not being able to attend my lecture or seminars it has affected my work and my ability to understand the materials. Currently my father is in contact with the American Consult trying to resolve this issue. I highly doubt that I'll be returning to Queen's University by the time my Winter Term exams begin.
