New Information: In the 2016-2017 Academic Calendar, regulation 10.5.5 states that to determine which grade takes precedence when one of the course attempts results in a TR, the TR shall be considered equivalent to a grade of C.

In the previous academic year I have repeated CHEM 112 and passed with a grade of C. I have also obtained a TR designation for this course as a result of my International Baccalaureate in high school.

My question is this: Since a TR is considered equivalent to a grade of C, will this designation take precedence if a repeat of the same course also results in a grade of C.

This is important because according to the same regulation, TR grades are not utilized in GPA calculations. If my recent grade in Chemistry 112 (C) is used for such calculations, my GPA should be 0.74. In this case, the ruling that I must withdraw for a minimum of one year will be invalid, and I should be placed on academic probation instead. However, if a TR takes precedence over a C, then my current GPA will be below 0.7 and thus this appeal will become necessary.

Some clarification on the matter will be much appreciated.
