Petition Letter
Petition Letter: Hello, I am appealing the requirement to withdraw for three years because I feel there are extenuating circumstances beyond my control. Last year I provided documentation from my psychiatrist describing my psychological barriers, which I have attached, pertaining to my severe anxiety and depression which greatly affected my grades. This year I have made a big improvement in my life and in school as well, I was more productive and active during classes as well as being able to be a part of a couple study groups. I am appealing because I feel what has affected me in the past in terms of my GPA have made it very difficult to make up for in just 2 semesters and I am currently in 2 summer school classes to make up my GPA. I am very close to raising my GPA above the 1.60 cut-off and I am doing very well in my classes which will get me the GPA required to stay in school. I only have one year left to achieve my BA and Queen's University has been a truly great experience for me. I want to be able to complete my final year here in Kingston so that I can start my career and proudly be able to display my degree from Queen's University.
Academic Plan
Academic Plan: My academic plan is to complete my 2 summer school courses which will raise my GPA to the required average and then complete my 3 year BA in the 2016-2017 school year. I am currently doing well in both summer school courses and am confident I will finish both courses with high marks. I also will continue this through the school year by further participating in classes and being actively involved with my peers. I have learned last year to get over my great anxiety which has helped me immensely because I am no longer wasting my energy and focus on negative things and applying myself to being involved in my school work. I hope you can accept my appeal because I am truly dedicated to my success at Queen's University and have worked very hard to get where I am today. Thanks for your consideration
