Associate Dean (Studies)
Queens University

I am appealing the amount of 865.60 charged to me for a Continuing Education course for Winter of 2015 (ENGL 259).

When choosing this course I was very excited to start at Queen¿¿s University. It had been some time since I was enrolled in a University and that this course, along with another would be beneficial to my future.

I was unaware that by choosing this course, I would be charged. I did not hear of this till I received an email to my personal gmail that I owed any sum of money. If I was aware that I owed such an amount I would have cancelled the course along with other cancelled courses. If there was a warning that the amount was owing before now I might have arranged a payment plan or known what to expect. There was nothing sent to me to make me aware till less than 30 days before it is due. I do not think this is the right way to treat this issue and if Queens University was able to send me an email now, then it could have earlier. I was very caught off guard when the email was received.

I did not watch one lecture, buy one textbook or converse with any professors. I did not gain anything by having this course selected in your data base and was shocked when notified that there was a sum of almost 900 is owed to your learning institution.

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: I have high hopes of extending my learning career, because I do love reading and interpreting literature. This is however, for the continuing education department and I do intend on continuing my education, but at this time, even the 865.60 is substantial for me.

I currently do not plan on carrying on my academic career with Queen's University or any other learning institution at this time.

I have spoken with Nicole Rogerson who is the Academic Advising Assistant for the Arts & Science department. She instructed to me to write an appeal letter.
