Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am a first year undergrad student going into second year. I am currently taking DEVS 100 and GNDS 125 during the summer term. Two days ago on July 3rd, I received a call from my family in China saying that my grandmother, who is 81 and has a heart condition had suffered from a stroke. She is in critical condition right now and she is receiving treatment from a local clinic, she needs to be transported to the town hospital but neither her and my uncle can afford to do so. We need to travel to China to provide her financial and mental support. I originally thought I could still do the summer course because I could just bring my laptop, but where she lives, (206 Sheng Dao, Cuoqin Xian, Ali Diqu, Xizang Zizhiqu), does not have internet, and the closest town that has internet would be a 14 hours drive away. It would be nearly impossible for me to continue my online summer courses. On top of that there is a great chance of me not being able to make it back to my final exams for both of my courses. My dad has already booked the air tickets, which departs on July 7th from Toronto to Shanghai. I will provide all the travel information.
