Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
I am currently taking CISC 102 this summer and I have found the course material very difficult and out of my depth. Primarily, I have realized that the most recent assignment is difficult to manage given that I have no prior experience with computer science nor am I strong mathematically. I wish to drop the course and enrol instead in WRIT 120 and have received written permission from the professor (email copied below) to enrol.

I called the online Arts & Science office and was instructed to submit an academic appeal. I am unwilling to pursue this course during the school year or next summer, as I know I am entering a difficult year (2nd year Commerce), and also because I have different course and career plans for next school year summer.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: The professor has not yet marked any of the assignments due so far, and given that my greatest strength is writing, and the fact that one of my good friends is also in the course and willing to help me through the content that I have missed, I am confident that I am able to succeed in the course. I am willing to dedicate the rest of the summer to the course, as I am not working full time employment. Furthermore, I plan on retaking CISC 102 next summer after taking CISC 101 or Math 121 and achieving an appropriate foundation and skillset for the course.
