Respected Sir/ Madam,
I hope you are doing well.
I am Tanvi Priyadarshini, an international transfer student pursuing Software Design at Queen's. I just completed my third year and I am starting my placement year now (QUIP internship year) , after the completion of which I'll be back to complete my degree's fourth year. I have overall
been an above average student at Queen's with top grades in more than half of my courses taken. I have also secured an internship for 12 months at BlackBerry.
With due respect, I am writing to appeal to add a course past the academic deadline.
I have been in a bit of a fix for the past few months, when because of my family's unfavourable financial situation, I had an overdue of tuition and hence a block on my account on SOLUS. This further led to me not being able to enroll into any courses, including internship courses which I need to be enrolled in asap.
After consulting the QUIC and the Awards office at Queen's, I made an appeal to the Registrar's Office to let me enroll in courses in spite of my account block. Fortunately enough, my appeal got approved (the letter is attached with this appeal for your kind review). But by the time this appeal was approved, the deadline to be enrolled in one of my three internship courses had already passed. I again, consulted the Undergraduate Program Assistant and my Faculty Office (Faculty of Arts and Science), and they recommended me to make this appeal so that I could be enrolled in the course even though it's academic deadline had passed.
Hence, it's my earnest request to please grant my appeal to add my internship course for the summer term, past the deadline, as this is crucial for me to be able to pursue the great opportunity I have got to intern at BlackBerry and enrich my career. I'd be very grateful and owe my career to your decision.
Please find all the attachments for your kind review. I had contacted the Faculty office and according to them, they have the permission to appeal and my internship offer letter on file.
