Petition Letter: To the Associate Dean (Studies),
I am appealing to waive the 21-day deadline in which a late appeal can be heard regarding my requirement to withdraw for one year.
When I had received the notice of my academic standing I had currently already been enrolled in three summer courses in an attempt to boost my GPA. Due to my participation in these courses I had neglected to submit an appeal within 21 days of my notice as I did not know how the outcome of the summer term would affect my GPA. As well, I was unaware that I would would be required to submit an appeal as I did not feel that my situation fell under the circumstances for an appeal. Furthermore, by the end of the term, I had successfully completed all my courses and had gotten my GPA above where it needs to be for a requirement to withdraw for one year. In turn, when I spoke to an academic advisor to discuss my academic standing once I had received my final grades, they had suggested that I submit an appeal.
I have already submitted another appeal in regards to my requirement to withdraw from Queen's University for one year and I hope that it is able to be reviewed and that my academic standing can be re-evaluated, with my new GPA acting as a factor in the decision.
