Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Please accept this request to appeal the two courses, ASTR 101 and HIST 260, that I was enrolled in during the Spring and Summer Sessions for 2016 as I was unable to complete either course due to extenuating circumstances that were beyond my control. Firstly, I had broken both bones in my right wrist in February. I registered for 2 classes in April, and all was going well, as I was properly medicated under the specialist from the hospital, however in May my health care was transferred back to my family doctor, which had to be Queen¿¿s Student Health, since I was already on a wait list for a family doctor for two years after my family doctor moved away and left 500 patients without a family doctor in August 2014. My wrist did not heal properly because it was a very severe break, and I was left without proper pain medicine from June to August 2016 when Student Health would not provide my federally certified narcotic prescriptions, which caused me to have to stay asleep because the pain was so severe and I was unable to function or use my right arm, all I did was cry and sleep repeatedly, day after day. I am back on my feet, and my wrist has healed enough that I am able to use it again, and I have a new family doctor, a sports medicine and spinal cord specialist, and my pain medicine prescriptions will be back in place September 28, 2016. Secondly, ODSP, the Ontario Disability Support Program, which I have been 100 covered by since 2001, changed systems again, and caseworkers again, and my accounts have not been paid, and all my utilities were shut off. This has been a constant battle with ODSP, however I was just too sick to deal with them, and was forced to freeze in -30 to -40 degree temperatures, and then forced to endure 30 to 40 degree temperatures of heat and humidity, all of which is under appeal - and a portable solar system is being hooked up at my house to provide electricity and communication services in the meantime.
