Petition Letter
Petition Letter: Dear Dr. Johanne Bénard,
I am appealing to add courses to my schedule such that I can graduate this academic year with a balanced course load.
The basis of my appeal is that a combination of extenuating circumstances impacted my ability to pay tuition on time and register for additional courses. First, personal and familial financial issues meant that I was unable to pay tuition in full when the initial September 1st deadline came. This circumstance was out of my control and unexpected, but it did not impact my academic performance directly. Instead, I continued to attend the classes I was enrolled in, in addition to keeping up with two classes I intended to add to my schedule, EMPR 200 and PSYC100A.
Second, I fell ill during the weekend of September 16-18. I typically do not get sick, but when I do I experience heavy exhaustion and sometimes find it challenging to keep up with all of my obligations. On September 19th, I visited the doctor's office at the La Salle clinic on campus to try and get direction on how to improve. During the week of September 19th, I was doing my best to keep up with school and manage my illness at the same time. I realize that during this week I should have contacted the Faculty and the Registrar's Office to inform them that I was unable to pay my tuition in time to enrol in my courses. Preoccupied with my sickness and school, I made a mistake and overlooked this important task.
Finally, I managed to pay my tuition on September 23rd. Unfortunately, the transfer did not process in time before the deadline passed, and I was unable to register in my desired courses. I recognize my responsibility in not contacting the necessary parties when it looked as though I would not be able to pay my tuition on time. However I feel that a combination of unexpected external factors impacted my capability to pay tuition on time and register in these additional courses.
I truly hope you take some time to consider my request. It would do a great deal in helping me fix this mistake I have made, and I would be deeply grateful.
Sincerely,
Vid Stambolic

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: Academically, I am confident in my ability to make up for the time I have not been enrolled in the courses, because I have been keeping up on the material with friends of mine who are in the class. Although the assignments I have missed may provide some additional burden, I am diligent and motivated to perform well. Furthermore, adding these additional courses to my schedule will allow my to graduate without taking any summer courses, something I hope to avoid. On a personal level I hope to take better care of my health once I start to feel sick, and take extra time to ensure I finish all of my obligations. These two classes fit into my schedule, and have open spaces available. I have contacted both of the instructors, and they have granted me permission from their end to enter their classes.
