Petition Letter: To Dr. Johanne Bénard:
I am a fourth year Stage and Screen student here at Queen¿¿s University. I am writing to appeal adding the course FILM 400 ¿¿ 003, Fall 2016.
This course was my first choice but initially did not fit my schedule. A lab time was tweaked by the university so I was able to make it work. This course is also necessary in my graduating, as well as on a subject I take interest in and believe I can learn a lot from. I was late in meeting the add/ drop deadline due to an illness causing my arrival to Queen's to be delayed by a week. See doctors note attached. I had missed the first week and along with that, the reminder of important dates from my professors, which would have included the add date.
I have been attending the class I wish to be added to since week 3 and have received permission from the professor. I continue to do the readings and homework and even hand in assignments. I do not feel as though I am behind in the course and have made an easy transition into the learning style and plan to achieve the learning goals of Film 400 ¿¿ 003.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: I am in my final year of my degree and plan to graduate in the Spring of 2017. Throughout my years at Queen's I have applied organizational and time management skills in order to stay on top of my work and readings and to successfully complete every course I am enrolled in. I have stayed on track by passing all courses with grades that I am happy with.
This course, FILM 400 - 003, is one of the final courses needed to complete my degree.
After starting this year a week late, I really had to focus on not letting myself get behind and I believe I have been successful.
