Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: My Name is Hayley Doelman, I am a second year Concurrent Education student. I would like to be officially registered in the MUTH 211 class.

Early September, I auditioned for the MUTH 211 class which is Dance for Musical Theatre lead by Stephanie Graham. I was successful in my audition and was unaware that there was a maximum amount of courses that I could take. So, whilst speaking with Amy Bello (Senior Secretary of the Dan¿¿s School of Drama and Music), she told me I needed special permission to be in the class (due to the fact it was my seventh course). I e-mailed Cindy Butts who granted me special permission. I was a little late getting back to Amy Bello about my special permission, and seems it is now too late to be registered.

I have been excelling in all other six courses and feel very comfortable and capable handling this additional class.

I have attended every class since the beginning of the semester, submitted an assignment and fully participated in the class. I am absolutely loving the class as I have a background in musical theatre and wish to pursue it in the future; specifically, to teach. I also auditioned for MUTH 210 which is Musical Theatre Vocals for next semester, and was successful in that audition as well and I have the support of Lee Atkinson.
