Petition Letter
Petition Letter: I am writing to request to drop my fourth year politics class. As of today I have not handed in any assignments for the course, which totals up to over 50 of class material. I threw myself at the course and the 120 page + readings a week, and the 5 page papers each week. It is at the expense of my other three courses and I risk failing the other three due to the anxiety attacks that I am receiving due to this fourth year class. I do not see a way in which I will ever be able to complete any fourth year politics classes unless I drop every other class that I have, as the anxiety it causes me will take up every other aspect of my entire life. I have been in extensive contact with the University Chaplain and the Human Rights Office with the sexual violence coordinator to help with self care.
I acknowledge that I should have dropped it earlier on but filling out this form has caused me such stress and crawling under tables that it was not possible for me. I acknowledge the drop date was on
I love the course material and politics but given accommodations that I cannot possibly do a fourth year course. It takes me over 8 hours to put the 120+ of reading material through the software at the Adaptive Technology Center. It's just too much. It is just too much for me. I need to stop and seriously evaluate how on Earth I'm am going to do this so I will be coming back for a fifth year to take these fourth year classes as sole classes, with one in fall and one in winter.
