Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I am writing to appeal to waive the one-term deadline for submitting an appeal to late-drop STAT263. Since last year I have had some family problems which prevented me from going home, and finally returned home for the holidays. Seeing my parent after the incident was pretty stressful. While at home I was overly stressed about my parent and as a result I forgot about submitting an appeal. I am currently seeing a counselor and will be continuing to do so. I plan on working on developing coping mechanisms to get over the trauma and I am working on my anxiety. I hope to get back to performing in school the way I did before the incident, and I am hoping to drop my STAT263 mark because it does not reflect my academic capabilities but rather a really hard time in my life.
