Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing this on behalf of my son Dylan Purves. I am appealing the two courses outlined above that Dylan was enrolled in for the Fall semester. Dylan began at Queen's last winter/2016 as a first year student. A week before classes began, Dylan was witness to a murder. He decided to begin his studies despite this traumatic event.He did not do well, appealed, and the results were taken off his transcript. Hoping for a better term this Fall, Dylan enrolled once again for first year classes. Unfortunately this was as a result of our urging and Dylan was clearly unable to cope. He has since decided to drop all of his courses at Queen's. Unfortunately the two courses that we are appealing were completed at this time and Dylan received a poor grade.At this point, Dylan still does not accept the fact that he requires professional help but we are hopeful that he will in the near future. Last spring when we appealed his first attempt at Queen's we submitted a supporting letter from the police in Peterborough which I was told would still be in Dylan's file for you to access.
We would appreciate it if you would remove the grade for MUSC 171 and CLST 102 from Dylan's transcript as we are hopeful that Dylan will seek the help he needs and return to his studies at some point.
