Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Dear Johanne,

Thank you for granting me the opportunity to make a late appeal regarding the courses indicated herein.

Since my divorce in 2012, I have suffered from chronic anxiety. Sometimes, it was completely irrational and would affect me in a significant physical way - intruding on my sleep, personal relationships, and ability to perform even menial tasks. During the summer of 2014, I went through a very stressful period of time where I was battling for custody of my son. This process lasted well into the Fall of 2015 and affected my ability to focus on anything outside of work, including school. As it affected so many other parts of my life, it greatly exacerbated my anxiety for which I sought medical help and support as often as I could. As you can see from my transcript, it was only the summer of 2016 where I was able to resume taking courses again.

I would be grateful of your consideration and support in granting my request such that my academic progress is not hindered by these exceptional circumstances.

Please find enclosed a letter of support from my doctor.

Best,
David
