Petition Letter

Petition Letter: To Whom It May Concern:

My name is Andrew Grubel and I am a fourth year Mathematics student at Queen¿¿s University planning on graduating in 2017 after the winter term. I am appealing to add STAT 464 to my courses past the academic date due date. I thought that I had been enrolled in the class since week one of semester two but apparently I had forgotten to add it to my course schedule. I have all the notes so far as I have been attending all of the classes, and I will be doing all of the assignments and handing them in. I also have all the prerequisites and a good background to succeed in this class. I have spoken with the prof and he understands my circumstance and he would love for me to be able to join the class.

I had realized that I wasn¿¿t in the class when I heard that the first assignment had been posted yesterday (January 24th, 2017). I tried to view the assignment but wasn¿¿t able to because I wasn¿¿t registered in the class. I will be receiving hard copies of the assignments from the professor and he will hold off on the grading until I am registered. I haven¿¿t missed any assignments or quizzes yet.

With this class added to my schedule I plan on graduating in after the winter 2017 term as initially planned. Taking STAT 464 will also allow me to focus more on a subject that I am interested in rather than taking one of the limited math courses online over the summer. Time series analysis will also help me in my desired field ¿¿ Data analysis.

I asked Professor Thomson for an email vouching that I have been to class and have the notes. He will also vouch that I will be completing all of the assignments. I asked him for this email on the 24th of January but he hasn¿¿t sent it yet. I will forward it to the dean¿¿s office when I receive the email.

I am planning on working in California this summer and next year. My biggest fear is that I will not have my degree when I fly out. I made a huge mistake and I would hate for my future to be compromised by something that can be easily fixed.

Thank you for the consideration,

Andrew Grubel
