Petition Letter

Petition Letter: I am creating this appeal because I need to late enrol in a course that conflicts with another mandatory class. I am a third year environmental science major, working to achieve a bachelor of science. Within my program requirements I have to take a prerequisite geology course, and I feel that geology 106 is both a suitable course, as well as applicable to my interests in sustainability. I also am interested in taking this course this winter term specifically because in fourth year I will be applying for graduate programs, of which do not accept 100 level courses in the final year of study. This course conflicts with another prerequisite course that I am taking this semester and it is a 200 level course which is also not accepted when taken in the final year of study, for my application process for graduate degrees next year. Therefore I would like to take geology 106 this winter term semester. I have missed the deadline for the application process to apply to enrol in this course because I have previously had financial problems and had not paid my university tuition thus there was a hold on my record, and could not enrol. This financial problem includes, not receiving my student loan on time and my mother being on vacation while the deadline passed because she was helping me with the payment this semester.

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: I have been going to every lecture except the wednesday one because I have a conflicting lab with that class. However I have been doing all of the chapter readings and have been preparing for the midterm exam next wednesday.
