Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean of Studies
After speaking with Dr. Tormann she recommended that I drop the MUSC 127 Ear Training and Sight singing as she couldn¿¿t see me successfully completing the course. Unfortunately, I was unable to meet with Dr. Tormann (Ear Training professor) and Dr. Lind (Head of music courses in the music department) until after the official due date to drop the course. This is my second time taking the course and I am still having difficulty in the course. Through the course this year and last year I have worked extremely hard with the teacher and a tutor, unfortunately, I am still having difficulty with it. I discussed with Dr. Tormann that I hadn¿¿t had any formal ear training experience until I started university. Dr. Lind and I came up with a plan to take the course online over the summer to get MUSC 127 credit, while working with a teacher one on one beginning with the very first stages of ear training. I hope that this solution will help me achieve my ear training MUSC 127 credit in order for me to enroll in the next section of the course which is MUSC 227 in the fall of 2017.
