Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: To whomever it may concern,

I would like to ask to drop both my courses, PHIL 115 and SPAN 111, past the academic deadline. I have severe extenuating circumstances which hinder my ability to complete these courses, and for which I have been following medical advice for treatment. I have been unable to attend classes, nor keep up with any classwork this term and my social life has been greatly affected. This issue has been persistently inhibiting for quite a few years however the treatment I was seeking hadn't yet helped. The problem had gotten worse throughout the school year so I saw a physician at the student wellness centre who provided me with a new treatment plan and some time off backed up by a verification of illness, which continued for six weeks. I have not yet seen improvement, which directs me to consider my inability to complete these courses despite my best efforts.
