Petition Letter: To whomever it may concern,
I am requesting an exception to have my CISC 101 course as a late drop for spring term as I believe there are extenuating circumstances. I am a first year student and have been struggling with this course this semester. I have attended all of the lectures and found the number of them cancelled by the prof, due to weather difficulties. He did post videos of what lecture would have been which were not as ideal for me to learn from. I have also worked with a tutor to get extra help and have also worked with friends in the course. I have put in my maximum effort and have realized that many of the other students in the course have had some programming experience from previous courses. My secondary school did not have those courses. I received my two assignments back and they were marked much lower than I expected. Had I gotten them back earlier I would have dropped this course earlier. I am asking for the ability to drop this now, so I can take some basic programming over the summer and take this course again next year. I have been experiencing a lot of anxiety over this situation this semester and have reached out to my psychologist for some advice on how to cope with this situation. He will also be sending a letter to you on my behalf.
Thank you for your consideration.

Roscoe Dillman
