Dear Associate Dean,
I am appealing to drop GNDS 212 and GNDS 280 (Fall 2016) past the academic deadline. I am also appealing to receive a credit standing in GNDS 315 (Fall 2016). Due to safety and mental health issues as a result of trauma experienced during my time at Queen¿¿s I have found it difficult to focus on academics. During this time I struggled to find the appropriate support and as a result my academic performance was greatly impacted. My ability to concentrate, manage course work and attend classes have all been affected as a result of these traumatic events. The safety issues and mental health symptoms severely hurt my abilities to achieve the mark I know I am capable of.
Prior to this I have been a strong student. This coupled with my tenacity and work ethic should assist me in the future as it has helped me be successful in the past. Having been well-adjusted in the past leads to me to anticipate that I will be well able to return to my studies and once again be successful.
I thank you in advance for your sincere consideration of this request.
Sincerely,
Molly Clark-Hurley
