Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Associate Dean of Studies,

I am appealing to take a medical leave of absence from Queen's, to apply for Aegrotat standing for ENGL 200 and GNDS 215, and to drop ENGL 244, ENGL 257, and ENGL 271.
I am appealing for this leave due to circumstances involving my mental health that have severely impacted my academic performance this semester. I had extreme difficulty attending class and completing assignments on time due to these issues. I met with residence counsellor Freeman Woolnough for multiple sessions (I believe we met around nine times) in an effort to deal with these complications to my academic performance.
My plan for my academic future includes taking time off in an effort to attend programs that will help with my mental health issues before returning to my studies. Doing this will allow me to obtain better focus and motivation for attending class and completing schoolwork when I am able to return to my studies.

Thank you for taking the time to read my appeal.
All the best,
Meaghan Edgley
