Petition Letter: To whom this may concern,

I am writing this letter to support my appeal to receive an Aegrotat grade for the 9-credit Pols 398 course at Herstmonceux castle. During the last week of February 2017, my mother was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer. While she kept me updated with the results of further investigations regarding her diagnosis, I found that she and I engaged in lengthy conversations to provide her with psychological support. Sleep deprivation became a constant issue and my stress levels were elevated. I therefore struggled to complete work when assigned and realized that my priorities were with my mother. My mother and I have always and continue to share a unique closeness with our relationship. With two weeks remaining in the school year, on March 20h I departed back home to console my mother and provide for her.
