Petition Letter
Petition Letter: I am appealing for AG standing in HIST 215, HIST 240 and LAW 201. HIST 390 I have completed and do not need to appeal that course.
My extenuating circumstances are as follows:
My younger brother passed away on April 1, 2017. He struggled with drug issues and I was a support system for him. Receiving phone calls from him frequently and at all hours and being concerned for his safety was very stressful and required intervention from the police. This occurred over the course of the winter term.
I received my 7th concussion during the second week of February. My regular doctor classified it as severe and it had a significant impact on my studies. I couldn't leave my room for 3 weeks. I couldn't watch TV, couldn't read, couldn't do anything but rest and I fell behind in my studies. I also have a damaged neurological system and need to be regularly active and participate in sports to stay physically healthy. Not being able to exercise made my other chronic health issues worse.
I plan to take 2 summer term courses in order to meet my requirements to graduate this fall. I am applying to law school in the UK and I hope to start this September.
