Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
The aim of this appeal letter is to have all grades from the 2011/2012 academic year dropped from my transcript. They are completely non-representative of my abilities as a student. I was in the midst of a major depressive episode during both semesters; I was not attending classes or tutorials, failed to submit major assignments, and even failed to write many exams. Major depressive episodes are a pathological state caused by neurochemical imbalance. My failings as a student during the 2011/2012 academic year were a direct consequence of a medical condition. My poor performance is entirely consistent with the associated symptoms of major depressive episodes as well.
I have very recently been diagnosed as a manic-depressive and been prescribed carefully calibrated medication. I am also regularly seeing a counsellor. In addition, I am making use of community services such as Kingston AA and Frontenac Community Health and Addiction Services. I no longer have anything weighing me down and will prove this by producing exceptional academic results moving forward.

New Information: Hello Dr. Horton,
I am looking to specifically drop POLS 261, POLS 264, SOCY 210, ECON 232, POLS 250, POLS 251, SOCY 211, SOCY 227, and PHIL 157 (I forgot to specificy PHIL 157 in the original appeal). As you can see, I have nothing but Fs in those courses. This was because I was experiencing a major depressive episode. As you can imagine, a clear-headed rational person does not fail so utterly in all of their courses, especially not while accruing a substantial amount of debt as in my case.
I have specifically set aside this week to finish off the incomplete course on my transcript from this past academic year. I will have a grade by the end of the month.
