Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean,
I am writing to request an Aeogrotat standing in HIST 122 and SOCY 122. In both courses I have completed and passed all term work.
On Sunday, April 2nd I was in Ottawa when I fell extremely ill. I was taken to the Ottawa Hospital General Campus, and became unable to speak, walk, or feel the right side of my body. I was then taken by ambulance to the Civic Campus so I could be examined by neurologists. I was given multiple CT scans, MRIs, lumbar punctures, blood tests, and ultrasounds over the following days in an effort to diagnose me. It was determined that I was suffering from viral meningoencephalitis, however the specific virus causing the swelling remained unknown. I stayed in the hospital for eight days, and am still recovering at home in Ottawa and waiting for the results of more tests. It remains difficult for me to read long sections and remain focused for significant periods of time. This makes it very difficult for me to study for my exams, and thus I am asking for an AG in the two mentioned courses. I have been in touch with all of my professors and have made arrangements regarding my other courses.
If I am granted an Aeogrotat standing in HIST 122 and SOCY 122 it will allow me to enter my program of choice (Politics) and continue my studies at Queen's. I will be fully recovered by September and will be able to continue with school normally.
