Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,

I am requesting a review of my POLS 262 exam as I feel the marking did not reflect the quality of my work, nor did it reflect my knowledge of the course material. Due to having left campus prior to the release of the grades, I am unable to look over actual exam. However, I am quite confident that the mark that I received is not accurate of my performance in the exam. I am confident about this, as I did all of the required readings, attended every lecture and every tutorial, and therefor was able to answer each question on my final exam with confidence and knowledge. The other grades that I received in the course I also do not agree with, however the B- I received on the final exam is in no way indicative of the type of student that I am, nor does it embody the work and dedication I have put into this course. The B I received in POLS 262 is the lowest mark that I have received all year, and it is having a negative effect on my GPA, that is not justly warranted. I would not bother contesting this final it if I had not applied myself to the fullest extent in this course, but the case is that I worked extremely hard. I have contacted my instructor Professor Wayne Cox, and he is unable to give me a re-read as part of his course policy. I would greatly appreciate a re-read/re-grade.
