Petition Letter

Petition Letter: To the Associate Dean (Studies),

I am currently a Queen's Atsci student, and have finished my first year there. I would like to enrol in the summer online program for two of my courses Biol 102 and Math 121. I received my mark back for Biol 102 only as of two days ago and my mark back for Math 121 as of 4 days ago. I did not think I would be required to re-take these exams during summer school so therefore I did not enrol in them sooner.I believe the deadline for enrolling was before I even received my grades back, and therefore I find myself in a very tough and unfair situation. I have taken an online course before and I know that not much material is covered in the first few weeks and assignments are usually given out after 3 weeks,so I didn't miss too much at the moment. I am obliged to take these courses for the major I wish to go into for next year, and re-taking them in the summer will also raise my cumulative GPA. I am currently living in Toronto for the summer and travelling to Europe as well, so therefore I would very much appreciate it if you can make an exception to my case and allow me to enrol in these courses and do the online proctor exam.

Thank you,
Anamaria Gaina

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: My academic plan is to devote more time and effort into these courses in order to obtain a reasonable grade required to be accepted into the biology major program. I am taking a lighter course load and therefore I believe I will meet these expectations.
