Petition Letter
Petition Letter: Good afternoon,
I am writing to you because I am stuck in a weird position regarding my academic standing in POLS396.
When the enrollment period has begun during the summer, it allowed me to enroll in the class, but only last week I have found myself to be in the Wait List for this class. I have asked for help from my Prof (Daniel Troup), and the POLS Undergraduate Assistant (Cynthia Macintosh), neither of them could help so I sought help at the Art&Sci department in Dunning Hall, which have told me to write an appeal for my standing. When I visited the Art&Sci department they did notify me that I have had 2 error messages before being put on the wait list, the 2nd error massage was on the Enrollment day, and then after that I was on the wait-list. I have tried to find these messages on my SOLUS account, but there is no way for me to do that.
The sole reason why I am writing this late and not as soon as I saw the problem occur was the fact that I was 1 on the wait list, and had high hopes on someone dropping the course as I did not really see the class being completely full.
I have contacted both, the professor and the POLS Undergraduate Chair letting them know that I am writing this appeal, and the professor (Daniel Troup) has granted permission of me continuing this class (visible in the screenshot attached), but obviously has no power over the my enrollment in this class
I have attended every lecture and have been signed up for a project that is taking place in the middle of November, I have fully caught up in the readings and lectures
I honestly did not expect to be on the Wait List for this long, and quite honestly I should have sought help as soon as the problem has occurred, and that is my fault, but I do wish this appeal to be ruled in my favor not only because I am fully caught up in work, but as the prof has also granted permission for me to continue

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: If my appeal is granted, I would continue to put in the hard work that I have been putting in this course. I would still be doing the readings as I am now, and still showing up to lectures ready to learn every time.
The one thing that I would change and would take away from this is deal with a problem as soon as it occurs and not wait for it to be magically fixed.
Thank you
