Petition Letter
Petition Letter: I am requesting to add my courses late for the 2017-2018 school year, because I was unable to because of a hold on my SOLUS account, which prevented me from adding my courses on SOLUS. I pay for my education, partially through my TD Canada Trust Student Line of Credit, and I had trouble with the bank this year, and it took longer for those funds to be released to me. So I had been in contact with the Registrar's Office, letting them know the situation - providing them with the documentation proving that I would soon have the funds needed to pay my tuition. An APA was granted, however, the hold on my account was still not lifted by some error, and so I was unable to add my courses on time.
I have, however, been attending and participating in all of my classes that I have appealed to add. I have attended all lecture, lab and tutorials for the courses I need to add, in order to graduate. I have spoken with my professors and TA's about my situation, and so they have been so kind as to retain any of the grades I have received so far in the courses and will add those marks on OnQ when I am able to officially register. I am fortunate to have friends in the classes, as well, so that I do not miss any of the material. However, with midterms now approaching I need official enrollment and access to all of my courses on OnQ.
Thank-you so much for your help. As I mentioned, I work entirely on my own to finance my education, and it has been very stressful trying to get this looked after. I have struggled in the past with illness, that has prevented me from succeeding to my best ability in my courses, but after a summer of treatment and recovery, I am looking forward to having a much better and stronger and healthier year. I hope that you will please grant my appeal, and I can have a successful semester ahead.

Academic Plan
Academic Plan: I have already started off to a much better semester, attending all of my classes and restored to health. I am working at my part-time job less this year, in order to concentrate more of my time and energy on my school. I am hoping to graduate on time, or shortly after, and am excited for the future plans that I have. I will be meeting more with my academic advisor and making use of the academic grievances office. I communicate with my professors and TA's, already more than ever. I have learned to ask for help when I need it, and to find support when I need it. I truly am confident that I will have my best, most successful year. I am hoping to move back home to South Carolina upon graduating here, and pursue a career in pharmaceuticals. I actually have several companies that have expressed interest, and invited me to apply for work. With this goal in sight, I am so much more confident and able to bravely approach all the challenges still in the way.
