Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean of Studies,

I am appealing to add PHAR 100 to my course timetable this semester. In September, I decided to switch my major and thus required different courses. Instead of taking PHYS 117 I wanted to take PHAR 100. I was in contact with the Professor of the course who told me he had no issue with me joining at that time. I proceeded to fill out the paperwork that was sent to me and shortly after was added to the OnQ for the course. Since then I have submitted all assignments up to this point, participated in discussions, and caught up on all of the material for the upcoming midterm. As far as I knew I was in the class until I received an email from the faculty of arts and science today stating otherwise. None of my other courses were affected by my changing major as the rest are requirements for my new one. My plan for future success in this course is to continue moving forward with the class as I have been these last two weeks. I am very interested in the content being taught in this subject and feel I would benefit greatly from being enrolled in it.

Thank you,
Skylar Healey

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: I feel that being enrolled in PHAR 100 is a much better academic choice than the program I was involved in before. As I have already began learning the course content and doing the assignments, I have learned that it is a topic that truly interests me. As a result, I have found it much easier to learn the content and succeed in a course that I truly enjoy. My plan for future success in the course is to continue staying on top of the workload and content. I understand that an online course can be difficult to manage, especially in first year, but I have full confidence that I can succeed. As long as I am self regulated and an efficient independent learner, I will have no issue with this course just as I did not have an issue with the online courses I took in my last two years of high school.
