Petition Letter: Dear Dr. Atkinson, Associate Dean (Studies), and whom it may concern,
My name is Cleodie Collison, student number 10198085, and I am appealing to add PSYC 241 to my Fall 2017 academic calendar. I am in my second year, and working towards majoring in Psychology, however, I am currently considered a returning first year due to a lack of credits from last year.
I was put on the wait list for PSYC 241 in the summer when I first signed up for courses, and began attending the class at the beginning of September in hopes that I would not be behind if or when I was officially enrolled in the course. I purchased the textbook and have attended every lecture up until this point, and after settling into the class I honestly forgot that I was still on the wait list.
The midterm for the class was on Thursday, Oct 12th (yesterday). The day before that, it was brought to my attention that I was not officially enrolled. A hold had been placed on my SOLUS account due to a late tuition payment, and I was unaware that I had been removed from the waitlist and was never enrolled in the class.
I emailed my professor (Tara MacDonald) immediately, asking permission to write the midterm that I was prepared to write. She granted me that permission, and I wrote the midterm yesterday morning. I will forward you the email conversation between us.
I really want to major in Psychology, and need PSYC 241 to work towards this major. Without this class I will be behind by even more credits come December. I have already been attending lectures and doing the readings, written the first midterm, and would greatly appreciate it if I could be enrolled in PSYC 241.

Academic Plan: As I am appealing to be enrolled in a class, my academic plan, if this appeal is accepted, is to continue working hard in PSYC 241, and work towards my goal of being a Psychology major.
