Petition Letter
Petition Letter: Hello,
My name is Ryan Davidson and I am writing to appeal my past failed classes at Queens as well as tuition fees that the university is stating that I owe. In 2011/2012 school year I met with Brett Gibson, Head Coach of the men's hockey team at Queens. I was signed up for courses by the team's academic advisor. On this day, the Queens network crashed and we were unable to complete the normal registration. Also, due to the lateness of my registration (3 to 4 weeks into the school year) , I had to get permission from the Dean of Social Science to be enrolled. This was not possible on this date because he/she was on vacation. To the best of my knowledge, my registration was incomplete at this time.
For several reasons, I decided not to attend the university after being there for less than 48 hours. I did not attend a class at Queens nor did I play in any hockey games. I notified both coach Gibson as well as the academic councillor who worked with the hockey team. The academic advisor informed me that he would make any necessary arrangements with the registrars office. It wasn't until this week, 6 years after the fact, that I learned of my 'failed classes' and the outstanding balance. At no time did I receive notice of failing classes or a tuition invoice.
Given the fact that I did not attend any courses, I would like my past academic history at Queens to be eliminated. I have since attended both Brock University and Western University who were also unaware of any past academic failures. I would also request that all fees pertaining to these courses be eliminated as I did not attend Queens University.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Ryan Davidson
