Petition Letter: To whom it may concern,
My name is Hannah Bradley and I am appealing to drop BIOL102 after the course drop deadline. I have to withdraw from Queens¿¿ due to a mental health issue. Because this course is only in the fall term, I understand I must appeal to withdraw from the course. I have dropped the rest of my courses (which are either full year courses or winter term courses) on SOLUS. Below, I have explained the circumstances around my withdrawal for medical reasons from Queens¿¿.
Around the end of September, I found myself feeling rather anxious and depressed. I was doing well academically, but I found myself feeling somewhat isolated even though I had made some new friends at Queens¿¿. I knew it wasn¿¿t homesickness or just the stress of transitioning to university. I sought counselling at Queens¿¿ with Mary Green, starting in the middle of October. She was very helpful, but I was having more anxiety and becoming more depressed. It occurred to me that this might not be the right time for me to be on my own at university and that I needed to seek a psychiatric diagnosis. Things were getting really bad for me in the middle of November. My family and I agreed that it would be best to leave the university. My dad came to help me move out and take me home on Monday, November 20th. I saw my family doctor and he has referred me to a psychiatrist in my home town (St. Catharines). In consultation with my family and my doctor, I have decided it is best for me to withdraw from Queens¿¿ at this time.
