Petition Letter

Petition Letter: Dear faculty/professor

I am appealing to drop SPAN 110 because i just realized that i have already took the equivalent class SPAN P10(C+) and also SPAN 112(D) in the first year of university.

At the beginning of this academic year, I was trying to retake SPAN 112 to get a better grade so i could continue taking SPAN 204/5 etc, since I am planning to Minor in Spanish. However, i mistaken SPAN111 and 112 as a full-year course and did not realize that i could directly take SPAN 112 next term because i already achieved over C in SPAN P10. Not Until a few days earlier, when i was doing a group review session with a span major friend and he pointed out.

And due to some absents earlier this term, I missed 20 of homework assessment out of 100 and cannot make up for it. During the conversation i had earlier with my pro, even i get a full mark for the final, the best grade i can get for the course is a C-.

So after consulting with an advisor, she recommended to send an email to the associate dean and professor about dropping this course since it is a repeated course. And most importantly It can neither contribute to the GPA nor do any use to the academic plan.

I really appreciate professor Chamberlain's patience and guidance throughout the term. And being deeply sorry for this careless mistake causing writing an appeal request so late. I also want to apologize for causing any inconvenience of you.

P.S I already sent this email to my prof and the faculty of Arts and Science Appeals. My prof have replied and acknowledged this situation but the faculty did not reply so i think it is better submit an appeal online.

Thank you,
Best regards.
