Submit an Academic Petition or Appeal

Petition Letter: I received a Finding of a departure from Academic Integrity. I received this because I attended the earlier Spanish Class instead of my later Spanish class that took place at 7pm. Myself and another student signed the attendance sheet for our later class, because we didn't want to be marked absent. It is stated by Rebeca Munoz in the finding that 'I helped myself to a document' that was not being circulated in the class but I did not grab the sheet, my friend did just so we would not be marked absent because we were attending the earlier class instead of the later one.
Rebeca also states that I did not want an in-person meeting to discus the misunderstanding, but this is untrue, I went to see Rebeca after class to discuss and she told me I had to email her. The reason I left the class in the first place was because I received a call from my mother and it was about my grandma, I was very upset, this is why I left the class.
In addition, the evidence Rebeca use for item one, shows that we were in class on November 15th, but it does not show we misrepresented our class attendance, because we did not put a time stamp.
The process was very unsupportive, I had no help for creating a case, I was never provided a meeting with Rebeca, also I was told 2 days after writing the exam that I was found responsible for misrepresenting the class attendance.
I do not think a level II sanction is what I deserve,¿
