Course Appeal Review
Dunning Hall
Queen's University
Kingston ON K7L3N8
Dear the Associate Dean (Studies),
After consulting with the Queen's LaSalle Counsellor and Academic Advisor, I am appealing to drop my first-year course: BIOL 102.
Throughout the year I've continuously had troubles dealing and coping with everlasting family troubles which impacted my ability to focus and perform this year, specifically semester one. This complication led to a pre-diagnosed condition of positional vertigo being brought up, resulting in being both physically and mentally fatigued. I reached out to Academic Counsellors and Advisors who were phenomenal in the handling of the situation and providing advice. We planned to take an additional year to focus on rebuilding focus and health to prepare myself for the upcoming year. After speaking with an academic advisor, together we dropped all the current courses I was currently in. However, since BIO 102 is in the first semester, we were unable to drop it without academic penalty at the time, and I was advised to appeal to drop the course. There has been a significant improvement since the previous year of the way in going about dealing with these issues. However, this semester will provide the proper time and availability to seek more help and advice.
Thank you in advance for your attention to this request.
Sincerely,
Keyur Bisetty
