Petition Letter

Petition Letter: To: The associate Dean,

I am appealing to add MATH 225 back into my course schedule after the add course deadline.

I was originally in math 225 but dropped it because I planned to take it in the summer instead. With this being said, shortly after I dropped the course I got offered a full time job in the summer that would conflict with the online course and that would prevent me from doing well in the course over the summer. I believe that taking the course during the winter term will allow me to do much better than in the summer. This is important to me as I would like to do well in the course since it is part of my minor.

To ensure academic success I have ben going to the lectures for the past 3 weeks since the course was originally in my course schedule. I know that I have the time in my schedule to go to the required classes because I was originally in the course. To ensure that I succeed in the course I will continue going to lectures, completing the homework, readings, and tests throughout the remainder of the semester.

Academic Plan

Academic Plan: I am in a psychology major with a math minor currently taking math and psychology courses and hoping to get back into math 225.

I believe that I have the ability to be a full time student and take 5 courses as this was originally my plan. Furthermore, I have completed a full course load in the past, and have completed the courses with good grades. Since school is my main priority right now I believe that I will have no trouble going to all of my scheduled class hours in my 5 courses.

I did not have difficulty with this course content and I have been going to the lectures so I should have no trouble grasping future content. I also talked to the professor and he stated that I should have no trouble adding this course back into my schedule and completing the course with good standing.

Overall, I plan to succeed in the course by continuing to go to lectures, complete homework, study for tests, and ask for help from the professor when needed.
