Petition Letter: Dear Associate Dean (Studies),
My name is Sarah Aklilu and I am a fourth year student majoring in Sociology. I am requesting the review of Professor Levine-Rasky¿¿s decision on the grade of my term work in SOCY 200 (Fall, 2017).
Throughout the term, I worked extremely hard to obtain a grade that would be an accurate representation of the effort I put forth in the three tests and final examination required to complete SOCY200. However, I strongly believe that both the grades of the tests I had taken, as well as the final exam, were not indicative of the overall performance I displayed during the course of the semester. Once I received my overall grade on solus on January 5th, I emailed my professor to reconsider my grade by discussing my previous tests and final exam; however, she stated that she did not have the time to do so due to prior commitments, and encouraged me to appeal my grade.
Since the beginning of first year, I have noticed a gradual improvement with the various courses I have taken. I have been putting more energy, time and effort in all my work every time I have something due, no matter how big or small the assignment or exam is. This is my final year at Queen¿¿s University, and therefore, it is extremely important for me to obtain a respectable academic standing as I look to apply to graduate school in the future.
I hope this request for reviewing my grade in SOCY200 will help better reflect my knowledge of course content, since I believe that my work throughout the course is deserving of a better overall grade.
