Dear Associate Dean of Studies,
I am writing for a waiver for the deadline of 21 days to appeal my final grades from my second year of courses at Queen's University. In 2015-2016, I was enrolled in the bachelor of science program and chose a chemistry major during program selection. 7 Weeks into my first semester, I withdrew from my chemistry courses, but continued to take PSYCH 100 in the fall-winter semester. I also decided to take DRAM 205 in winter along with Biology 103.
At the time that I finished my second year at Queen's University, I was not aware of the ability to appeal final grades or the deadline that followed. Furthermore, I not only had financial issues but also suffered from mental health problems that I've since overcome with help from both the Student Wellness Services and my family doctor. I will provide documentation of proof if my waiver appeal is approved.
I would like the chance to appeal my final grades in my second year since I have improved both my financial and mental state. Moving forward with my academic career, I wish not to have grades that do not reflect my ability as a student hinder my future academics.
In conclusion, I am requesting that you consider my waiver of the 21 days so that I may have the chance to appeal the 3 courses in my second year. The changes I have made in my life give me the ability to again move forward with my academics. I hope you please consider my waiver and in turn allow me to succeed in my future endeavours.
Sincerely,
Charli Zwicker
